Choose 2 fiction stories to read on Storyline online, Literacy Planet or from your library shelf at home.
Activity: Read 1 to yourself and one to somebody else in your home. Choose your favourite book and find all the
different punctuations. Talk about what they are for and when to use them.

Log on using your username and password. You will be able to access tasks based on your Reading
Level.
Sight Words:
Say all my sight words out loud. Ask a parent for help if you are unsure of a word.
PDF for lists of sight words uploaded onto the class blog - Please refer to your child's sight word list in their
homework books. If they have completed that list, you can find the next list in this file.
Phonics:

Spelling:
Pick 5 words from the sight word list to learn to spell.
Writing:
Learning Purpose: To use our senses to describe our surroundings.
Next time you are outside or go for a walk, use all of your sense (sight, smell, sound and what you feel).
Draw a beautiful picture about what it looked like outside to help you with your ideas.
Complete a piece of writing using your most interesting describing words for your outdoors experience.
Try and write 4-5 sentences.

Recipe:
3 cups corn starch
3 drops food colouring (preferably green)!
1 cup water
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. What happens when you quickly push into the mixture?
What happens when you gently ease your hand in? Can you find out why this occurs?

home.
As you read, think about the connections you can make to other things. For example, if you read a
book about a whale you may think
“This reminds me of the time when I learned how to help stranded Orcas at Eastern Beach.”
Try and think of 3 connections and complete the table below.

Write a description of your family. In your writing tell me their names and share something about
