Monday 6 April 
Reading: 
Choose 2 fiction stories to read on Storyline online, Literacy Planet or from your library shelf at home.
Activity: Read 1 to yourself and one to somebody else in your home. Choose your favourite character and talk about their character traits.

Sight Words: 
Say all my sight words out loud. Ask a parent for help if you are unsure of a word.
PDF for lists of sight words uploaded onto the class blog - Please refer to your child's sight word list in their homework books. If they have completed that list, you can find the next list in this file. 

Phonics:

Spelling: 
Pick 5 words from the sight word list to learn to spell.

Writing: 
Learning Purpose: Write a list of words related to Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. Eg, kind, friendly, trustworthy.

Write as many words as you can in a list. Sound out the words and try and spell these by yourself first, before asking an adult for help.

Following this make your very own word search. Write your words from the list in the boxes below, then put them down, across or diagonally in the boxes. Around this place any letters you like to hide the words.

Activity: Find different types of punctuations. Talk about each of them, what they are for and what we should do as we read them.

Think about your favourite sandwich. Think about all the things that you’ll need to have and do. 

What you should include in your writing:
  • Title, ingredients, steps using numbers i.e. 1. ____, 2. _____
  • Don’t forget the steps should start with a verb! E.g. Take out 2 pieces of bread.

Learning purpose: Gratitude and describing what we are grateful for. 

It is always important to think about things we are grateful for in our lives. This also really helps to make you feel good and remind you of what is important when you are facing challenges. Have a chat to your family about these things.

Write down the answers to the following questions below, about what you are grateful for. Write this as a list from 1-8.
